athletic_scholarshipAny good high school athlete dreams of getting a Division 1 sports or athletic scholarship! Division I schools sports programs such as football, basketball, track, hockey and baseball all have recruiters who go after the top players in every sport..

Federal Grant Source Review

federal_grantsThis is probably one of the older grant resources online, and it offers a huge database packed with information. On the good  side – it’s a lot of information at your fingertips – on the downside – it can be a little overwhelming when you first start out.

This is actually a recurring monthly membership, which you can easily cancel at any time. Most member usually stay on the service for 6 to 9 months to take full advantage of the updates on the service. And that is the best part of getting a service rather than a printed book or ebook if you are looking for a variety of different grants – a monthly service means that the database will be updated with fresh programs, as opposed to a printed guide. With a one time fee – what you get at purchase time is all you will get!

Overall, it’s a good choice if you have limited financial resources for your search, and want to be able to research a wide variety of grants and funding programs.

While many of these scholarships are funded directly by the colleges, you will also find that many are funded by the school’s own Alumni groups. Read the rest of this entry

8 Tips For Great Recommendation Letters

letter_of_recommendationAs if completing your scholarship application was not difficult enough – now you need to ask your teachers for letters of recommendation. Ouch!  Not only is this usually an uncomfortable thing for most students to do….they also tend to put it off until the last minute. Not good – it puts you and your teachers in a very bad situation.
